Su trabajo, fundamentado especialmente en retratos callejeros, construye un inventario de la especie humana y la \u2018desnuda\u2019 emocionalmente, con empat\u00eda, sin artificios t\u00e9cnicos y <strong>\u00abFreak Show\u00bb<\/strong> de Susan Sontag, que describ\u00eda a Arbus como una turista en el infierno que combat\u00eda el hast\u00edo de su existencia burguesa con sus fotograf\u00edas, se ha simplificado su obra como la de una retratista de \u2018bichos raros\u2019 o \u2018monstruitos\u2019 y se le ha acusado de utilizar la c\u00e1mara de forma c\u00ednica, aunque
