Tomar la Calle opens its call to photographers from Latin America interested in joining the community from different levels of participation, contributing to its development, representation and consolidation as a platform for meeting, exchange, growth and dissemination of street photography.

The call includes three lines of participation:
Official Members, Ambassadors and Photographic Catalog.


AIMED AT

Photographers of legal age, born or residing in Latin American countries:
Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.


1. OFFICIAL MEMBERS

(Organizational team and community management)

The Official Members make up the operational core of Tomar la Calle.
They are responsible for giving order, structure, direction and projection to the project, as well as for the production and execution of the project. Take the Street FotoFest and other community activities.

Required profile:

  • Career in street photography
  • Experience in cultural management, production or project coordination.
  • Organizational and teamwork skills
  • Real commitment to medium and long term processes

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, development and execution of community projects
  • Production of exhibitions, activities and events
  • Internal coordination and decision making
  • Strategic development of the community and its lines of action
  • Active participation in the organization of the Tomar la Calle FotoFest.

Benefits:

  • Direct participation in the decision making of the community
  • Capacity of propose, develop and lead projects
  • Priority in selection for exhibitions, activities and projects
  • Integration into the core team with real impact on project management
  • Projection as a manager and creator within the community.

The selection will be based on:

  • Quality and consistency of photographic work
  • Experience in management, production or collective projects
  • Clarity of vision and ability to contribute
  • Demonstrated level of commitment

This is not token membership. It is real work.


2. AMBASSADORS

(Representation, articulation and territorial growth)

The Ambassadors represent Tomar la Calle in their cities, countries or regions, strengthening the presence of the community in Ibero-America.

In some cities there may be more than one ambassador.
In cities where there is already representation, new profiles may be integrated as support to strengthen local work.

Required profile:

  • Photographer active in his local context
  • Interest in generating community
  • Convening and management capacity

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate photowalks in your city
  • Generate links with local photographers
  • Disseminate community activities
  • Propose and promote local initiatives aligned with the project.
  • Collaborate with the central team when required.

Benefits:

  • Official representation of Tomar la Calle in its territory.
  • Active participation in the expansion of the community
  • Second priority in selection for exhibitions, activities and projects
  • Visibility and projection within the Ibero-American network
  • Possibility of growth into organizational roles

Evaluation:

  • Photographic work
  • Initiative and clarity of intent
  • Management capacity and local articulation
  • Consistency and commitment

Here we are not looking for presence, we are looking for movement.


3. PHOTOGRAPHIC CATALOG

(Visual representation, inspiration and expansion)

The Tomar la Calle Photographic Catalog is a curated repository that brings together views of street photography in Ibero-America.

The participants of the catalog do not acquire organizational, logistical or execution commitments within the community. Their role is representative: they are part of the visual identity of the project, its inspiration and its expansion.

Objective:

  • Building a solid visual archive of street photography
  • To show the diversity of views within Ibero-America.
  • To disseminate the work of the selected photographers.

Benefits:

  • Integration to the official catalog of Tomar la Calle
  • Dissemination of their work on community platforms and networks.
  • Third priority in selection for exhibitions, activities and projects
  • Screening within a curated and specialized environment

Evaluation:

  • Visual consistency
  • Reading the everyday
  • Narrative capacity
  • Own and consistent look

We are not looking for “pretty” images. We are looking for intention.


DYNAMICS OF PARTICIPATION AND SELECTION IN PROJECTS

Taking the Street will continuously develop exhibitions, activities and projects oriented to generate diffusion, projection and experience for the community.

For these processes, the following order of priority in selection is established:

  1. Official Members
  2. Ambassadors
  3. Photographic Catalog

This structure responds to the level of involvement and responsibility within the community.


REGISTRY

For any of the three lines of participation, the registration must include:

  • Full name
  • City of origin
  • City of current residence
  • Instagram account
  • E-mail address
  • Phone / WhatsApp
  • Biography (experience and photographic work)
  • Attach 10 representative photographs of their work

Photograph specifications:

  • Maximum size: 1800 px on the long side
  • Maximum weight: 2 MB per image
  • No frames, borders, signatures or watermarks
  • No name visible in the image
  • It is essential to include EXIF information in the files.

Failure to comply with any of these points may result in disqualification from participation without review.


COPYRIGHT AND IMAGE USE

  • Copyright remains at all times with the photographers.
  • Tomar la Calle will be able to use the registered photographs for:
    • Creation of participant profiles
    • Dissemination in social networks
    • Promotion of the community and its activities

The corresponding credits will always be respected.


CALENDAR

  • Opening of the call for applications: May 3, 2026
  • Closing of the call: May 31, 2026 at 23:59 hrs (Mexico Central Time)
  • Publication of results: June 14, 2026

    From June 14 to June 28, 2026, The Tomar la Calle team will contact each selected person directly:
  • Request additional information
  • Integration to WhatsApp groups
  • Definition of participation dynamics
  • Specific details of its incorporation into the community

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Participation is on an individual basis
  • It may be applied to one or more roles
  • The selection will be in charge of the Tomar la Calle team.
  • The decisions of the team shall be final and not subject to appeal.
