A student of Anthropology at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Manuel Guarena has grown up between the rhythm of his hometown and the constant proximity to Caracas. It was in his academic training where his passion for photography was born, finding in it a way to express that which cannot be explained only with words: culture, daily gestures and human dynamics that inhabit the city.
Street, documentary and ethnographic photography has become a fundamental tool for his artistic and academic projects, as well as a contribution in collaborations where he has had the opportunity to participate. His gaze dialogues between critical observation and social sensitivity, understanding the image as a bridge between research and reality.
