MELISA LAWNS

His work explores labor dynamics, collective memory and the links that sustain daily life in northeastern Mexico.
Photographer and visual artist, based in Monterrey, Nuevo León. A graduate of CONARTE's VISOR program for Photographic and Audiovisual Projects (2025), she has consolidated a practice centered on photography as a tool for constructing narratives where the body, industrial work and territory converge.
He was born in a border city between Mexico and the United States, a space marked by the constant transit of people, languages and economies; this liminal condition has defined his gaze and his way of understanding his surroundings.
From that origin she develops her work from a continuous displacement through Nuevo León, Coahuila and Tamaulipas. This transit not only shapes his methodology, but also reaffirms his interest in documenting the practices, transformations and social tensions that cross these territories.
