ERNESTO PEREZ

It turns urban life into a visual alert about the dignity and humanity that inhabit everyday life.
A documentary street photographer based in Maracaibo, Venezuela, and a constant observer of urban life. For more than eleven years he has been using the camera not only to capture scenes, but also to investigate the humanity that persists -sometimes almost invisible- in the margins of the city. His work focuses on revealing the silent dignity of spaces and faces that often go unnoticed.
He conceives photography as a form of alert: a window that illuminates ignored stories and activates empathy. For him, the most powerful narratives are not in the spectacular, but in the unpolished truths of everyday life. Throughout his career he has strengthened his narrative approach, highlighting his participation in a storytelling master class with NOOR in Mexico City, an experience that consolidated his interest in building visual narratives with depth and social awareness.
