13/10/2024Here are the details, rules and conditions of the photographic rally 24hourproject that Taking to the streets I organize for you.
Date and Time:
- Date: Saturday, September 9, 2023
- Start time: 9hrs
- Total duration: 12 hours (3 blocks of 3 hours each)
Location:
- Meeting Points:
Museum of Anthropology of Xalapa. 9hrs
Plazuela del carbón. 13hrs
Watercress kiosk. 17hrs
- Photography Area: The rally will take place in the streets around and in the historic center of Xalapa, including streets, squares, markets and emblematic monuments. The area of each block will be indicated by the coordinator on duty.
Thematic:
- Street Photography: Participants should capture the daily life, architecture, culture and people that make Xalapa a unique city.
Equipment:
- Each participant must bring his or her own camera (it can be a DSLR, mirrorless camera or even a smartphone).
- Different lenses and accessories are allowed.
- Use of optional tripod.
- Drones are not allowed.
Participation Form:
- Individual.
- You must register your participation at the selected meeting point before each block.
Blocks and Schedules:
Block 1: “Tomorrow on the Street”.”
- Start time: 9hrs
- End Time: 12hrs
- Meeting for evaluation and delivery of photos: 12-12:30hrs
Block 2: “Xalapa at Noon”.”
- Start time: 13hrs
- End Time: 16hrs
- Meeting for evaluation and delivery of photos: 16-16:30hrs
Block 3: “Sunset and Night in the City”.”
- Start time: 17hrs
- End Time: 20hrs
- Meeting for evaluation and delivery of photos: 20-20:30hrs.
Jury:
- A member of the collective will be the coordinator and will evaluate the photos after each block.
- The photos will be evaluated based on their compliance with the list that will be provided at the beginning of the activity.
- If the photo is not very clear, you can explain it to the coordinator so that he/she can make a decision.
- The coordinator's decision is final.
Photo Submission:
- The participant must arrive as soon as possible after the end time of the block and must give the coordinator the rally list with their data to note the end time (it will not be received before the stipulated time).
- Each participant must show their photos to the block coordinator directly on the device with which they were taken at the end of each block. He/she cannot repeat a photo with an element from the list.
- The coordinator will note the number of correct photos on his or her list and on the sign-in sheet.
Awards:
- A prize kit will be awarded to one winner from each block.
- The winner will be the participant who submits the most correct photos, in case of ties the winner will be the one with the earliest arrival time (the time will be noted by the coordinator according to his watch). There will be no ties.
- The kits consist of a photographic accessory courtesy of AB cameras, A photography book courtesy of Distortionrock, Vouchers for discount on Asterik Tianguis, Merch de Obeah Sound and consumer vouchers at The Xalapa power plant y Good pizza, sponsors of this first Tomar la calle photo rally.
Rules:
- No manipulation or construction of the scene is allowed, it must be candid photography, like street photography itself.
- Participation is individual, not in teams.
- Respect the people you are trying to photograph. If they do not want to be photographed, respect them and delete their photos if necessary.
- Avoid photographs of vulnerable people, children, people in street situations.
- Participants must follow all local laws during the rally.
- Each list belongs to a different block. Your starting point must coincide with the end point of the block in which you participate.
- You will be able to participate and win in 1, 2 or all 3 blocks of the activity without restriction.

This photo rally in Xalapa will offer participants the opportunity to explore and capture the beauty and life of the city at different times of the day. We hope it will be an exciting and creative event for all photography lovers!
