Over the past few months, we have been developing and using an (in-house) tool that is now an integral part of Tomar la Calle’s daily operations. It is our own platform designed to manage our calls for submissions in one place, allowing us to organize individual qualification processes, series evaluations, artwork selection, and the selection of profiles and members, among other formats.Currently, the Ibero-American jury responsible for selecting the photographs for Somos Calle 2026, as well as the official community members who select the entries for Máscaras Danzantes, are already using this platform, making the review, evaluation, and selection processes much more streamlined, organized, and transparent. In addition to saving time, this tool allows us to manage calls for submissions more efficiently, adapting to the needs of each project and strengthening the way we build our exhibitions and community. We continue to develop new features so that this platform can keep growing alongside Tomar la Calle’s projects.#TomarLaCalle #SomosCalle #FotografíaDeCalle #GestiónCultural #Convocatorias

#VLet'sTakeTownTheStreet
1TP5Let'sTakeToTheStreets The world is currently facing a global crisis of social disconnection and isolation that the World Health Organization (WHO) has already classified as a serious threat to public health. Although the concept of the "social bubble" emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic to limit the spread of the virus, today that "bubble" has become an invisible phenomenon in which people are digitally hyperconnected yet deeply isolated physically and emotionally. Loneliness and isolation are no longer considered purely individual problems, but rather a true collective epidemic that affects the social fabric. Factors that sustain this "bubble" of isolation: The digital paradox: The widespread use of social media creates superficial connections that often increase the feeling of emptiness. Online interactions fail to satisfy the biological need for trust and face-to-face contact. A false concept of independence: In large Western cities, extreme self-sufficiency is rewarded, equating freedom with living in anonymity and severing community ties.Global phenomena of self-imposed isolation: Extreme cases of voluntary isolation, such as hikikomori syndrome (or “closed-door syndrome”), have spread from Japan to Europe and the Americas.
